What is the project about?
The ACT4CONSENT project is an innovative and ambitious initiative that aims to address the issue of consent as it is recognised as a fundamental human right for all EU Members States. Understanding the importance of consent is essential for building healthy and respectful relationships, preventing sexual assault and harassment, and creating a safer and more inclusive society.
The ACT4CONSENT project aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Increase awareness and understanding of the concept of consent.
- Develop communication skills among schoolteachers, students, and parents to talk about consent.
- Build empathy and respect in local school communities.
- Address harmful societal norms and values which influence young people.
- Foster a sense of community and create a safe school environment for all.
- Provide support and resources to teachers, parents and students to address consent.
Learning resources
We are going to create a CPD Programme for Secondary School Teachers and Counsellors: a comprehensive 30-hour Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for teachers and counsellors comprising six modules. These modules are as follows:
- Module 1: Introduction to Consent for Students
- Module 2: Self-care for Teachers
- Module 3: Ethical and Legal Issues related to Consent
- Module 4: Cultural Norms and Consent
- Module 5: Communication for Consent
- Module 6: Drama and Storytelling Techniques
We are also going to create a toolkit of drama and storytelling resources to talk about Consent: A comprehensive digital toolkit will be developed for school teachers, students and parents with specific, age- appropriate resources that will support them to address the topic of consent.
