Today, April 17th, the final workshop of a series dedicated to self-gynecology took place at the Annam Street Community Center. Co-organized by SOLUTION and Mélanie, a midwife at the PMI in Ivry-sur-Seine, these meetings—initiated and led by Mélanie—provided each participant with a supportive space for sharing experiences, listening, and mutual respect. The goal? To enable everyone to better understand their body, exchange without taboos, and gain essential knowledge about their gynecological health.
The theme of this final workshop, obstetric and gynecological violence, resonated deeply. Participants shared their stories, learned, and supported one another, highlighting the crucial importance of reclaiming our bodies and recognizing these forms of violence, which are still too often ignored. These rich and moving exchanges confirmed the need for such spaces to break isolation and strengthen solidarity among women.
The impact of these workshops extended beyond the local community: a journalist from Radio France, accompanied by a colleague, came to record this precious moment for the podcast LSD, La série documentaire on France Culture. The episode, scheduled for September, will amplify these voices and issues to a wider audience, further raising awareness.
